A school is seeking a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist to support students in Meridian, ID. This contract position offers an opportunity to work directly with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, providing essential services to enhance their educational experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and support the communication and learning needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students requirements
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure integrated and effective support
- Provide direct instruction and communication support using specialized techniques and tools
- Advocate for students access to educational resources and accommodations
Qualifications:
- Experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students in a school setting
- Knowledge of educational methodologies and technologies specific to deaf/hard of hearing learners
- Ability to develop and execute individualized educational strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Relevant certification or licensure for working with this population is preferred
