Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification and/or licensure specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction
  • Previous experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settings
  • Strong knowledge of assistive technology, communication methods, and instructional strategies
  • Excellent collaboration skills with teachers, administrators, and families
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication systems
  • Commitment to fostering positive learning experiences and student advocacy

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess individual student needs and design effective educational plans
  • Deliver direct and consultative services to students, adapting instruction and materials as needed
  • Support classroom teachers in implementing accommodations and maintaining accessibility
  • Facilitate communication between students, staff, and families, promoting understanding and inclusion
  • Monitor student progress regularly and adjust interventions to maximize growth
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing essential input regarding communication and academic goals
