Job Description

A specialized opportunity is available for a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist to support the educational development of students with auditory challenges. This contract position is based in Matthews, NC, and involves working within a school environment dedicated to providing tailored educational services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Provide direct instructional support and communication strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Assess students auditory and communication needs and recommend appropriate accommodations and assistive technologies.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation of student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.

  • Expertise in deaf education and knowledge of instructional strategies for students with hearing impairments.
