Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification and/or licensure specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction
- Previous experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settings
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology, communication methods, and instructional strategies
- Excellent collaboration skills with teachers, administrators, and families
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication systems
- Commitment to fostering positive learning experiences and student advocacy
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess individual student needs and design effective educational plans
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students, adapting instruction and materials as needed
- Support classroom teachers in implementing accommodations and maintaining accessibility
- Facilitate communication between students, staff, and families, promoting understanding and inclusion
- Monitor student progress regularly and adjust interventions to maximize growth
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing essential input regarding communication and academic goals
