Job Description

A contract opportunity is available for a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to support students in a school setting located in Maple Valley, WA. This role focuses on delivering specialized educational services tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, helping them access the curriculum and thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Provide direct instruction and support in communication skills, including sign language and auditory training
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to optimize learning outcomes

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proficiency in sign language and other communication methods preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
