This contract position offers an opportunity to apply specialized skills in supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within a dynamic school environment located in Manteca, CA. Ideal candidates will have experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, demonstrating expertise in communication strategies, individualized education planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication methods for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Knowledge of educational accommodations and assistive technologies designed for students with hearing loss
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students with hearing impairments
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, parents, and related service personnel
- Understanding of state and federal regulations related to special education and Deaf/Hard of Hearing services

Key responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to optimize their academic success
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs
- Provide training and resources to classroom teachers and staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
- Facilitate communication between students, families, and service providers to ensure cohesive support
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review and revise student goals and accommodations
