Job Description

An elementary classroom position is available for a Teacher skilled in supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This contract role is based in Modesto, CA, and offers a dedicated opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an educational environment Monday through Friday.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure in teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students or related specialization
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children in inclusive or specialized classroom settings
  • Proficiency in communication methods appropriate for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, such as American Sign Language (ASL) or auditory-verbal techniques
  • Ability to design differentiated lesson plans that accommodate varied learning needs and promote student engagement
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner effectively with support staff, families, and other educators

  • Elementary school environment
  • Modesto, California
  • Monday through Friday schedule

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver classroom instruction tailored to the learning styles of Deaf and Hard of Hearing elementary students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
  • Foster an inclusive classroom culture that encourages social and academic growth
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, audiologists, and counselors
  • Utilize assistive technologies and resources to enhance communication and learning outcomes
