Seeking a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist for a contract position within a school setting in Mansfield, TX. This role requires expertise in supporting students with hearing impairments by providing tailored educational strategies and resources to enhance their learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Utilize assistive technology and communication methods to facilitate student engagement and comprehension.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly.
- Provide training and guidance to school personnel on best practices for working with deaf and hard of hearing students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist or equivalent.
- Experience working in an educational environment with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Strong knowledge of audiology, communication strategies (such as American Sign Language), and hearing assistive technology.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, support staff, families, and external service providers.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
