Job Description

A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to support students in an educational setting located in Mansfield, TX. This contract position focuses on enhancing communication and educational access for students with hearing impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students.
  • Provide direct instruction and support using specialized techniques and assistive technology.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to promote inclusive learning environments.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt strategies to maximize academic and social development.
  • Deliver guidance on communication strategies, auditory training, and language development.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with federal and state regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist or related credential.
  • Experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students in a school environment.
  • Strong knowledge of auditory and visual communication methods, including sign language preferred.
  • Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials and curricula.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, families, and students.
