Step into a dynamic virtual position supporting students from early childhood through 8th grade as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This full-time contract opportunity involves working 35 hours per week with a diverse student population near Joliet, IL. Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher
  • Previous experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ideally within school settings
  • Comfort and proficiency with virtual learning platforms and technology tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and relevant educational frameworks

What Youll Do:

  • Deliver direct virtual instruction and support to students in early childhood through 8th grade
  • Participate in IEP meetings as the specialist for students with hearing needs
  • Maintain detailed progress notes to monitor student achievement and growth
  • Work closely with general and special education staff to foster student inclusion and success
  • Adapt and modify lessons to fit individual student needs and ensure accessibility
  • Serve as an advocate and resource for students, families, and teachers regarding deaf/hard of hearing education
