Job Description

This virtual teaching position is tailored for an experienced Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist dedicated to supporting students from early childhood through 8th grade. The role involves delivering direct services, participating in IEP meetings, documenting progress notes, and working closely with other educational staff to ensure comprehensive student support. This contract opportunity offers a consistent 35-hour workweek in a flexible virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students from early childhood to 8th grade.
  • Conduct and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to tailor learning plans.
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation to track student development.
  • Collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and support staff to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Utilize virtual platforms to deliver services and maintain communication with students and families.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably within early childhood to middle school education levels.
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and special education protocols.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a virtual setting and manage a 35-hour weekly schedule.
