A full-time opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing services, based onsite near Joliet, IL. This role is integral to providing specialized education and support to students in an elementary school setting who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with hearing impairments
- Collaborate with school staff and families to implement effective communication strategies
- Utilize specialized techniques and resources to enhance student learning and engagement
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary
- Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings to support student development
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) certification in Illinois is required
- Experience working directly with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs
