Job Description

A school in Howell, MI is seeking an experienced Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide specialized instruction for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This full-time, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and development of deaf and hard of hearing students in a supportive academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to maximize learning outcomes.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages communication and social interaction.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with district policies, including student confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with families and other educators to support each students academic and social success.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license.
  • Professional experience in a school setting working with deaf and hard of hearing students.
  • Ability to obtain district fingerprints clearance as required for employment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
