Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students through specialized support as a remote Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist! This part-time contract opportunity lets you deliver personalized, one-on-one services, helping students flourish academically and socially from the comfort of your own workspace.

As a dedicated member of our virtual team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring access and success for deaf and hard of hearing learners. Utilizing your expertise, you'll adapt curriculum and instruction, provide guidance for communication strategies, and foster advocacy skillsall while working with school-age students in a flexible, virtual environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing or similar credentials
  • Previous experience supporting K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt instruction
  • Proficient with virtual learning platforms and technology
  • Clear, empathetic virtual communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently on a 1099 contract basis

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 virtual instruction and support for deaf and hard of hearing students
  • Collaborate with school teams to develop and monitor IEP goals
  • Utilize assistive technologies and accessible teaching techniques
  • Provide functional communication training and advocacy coaching
  • Create engaging, adaptive learning materials for students of varying ages and skill levels
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, attendance, and communication
