Job Description
A school district in Flint, MI is seeking a qualified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide specialized instruction to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This onsite contract position offers 35 hours per week supporting a diverse caseload of students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across K-12 grade levels
- Assess student progress and collaborate with school staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and communication methods to meet student needs
- Maintain accurate records and comply with district policies and state regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license is required
- Previous professional experience working as a teacher for deaf or hard of hearing students in a school setting
- District fingerprint clearance will be required for employment
