Job Description

This fulfilling full-time, onsite opportunity near Elgin, IL supports students throughout the current school year, from your start date through the end of the academic term. You'll collaborate with administrators and educators to provide essential instruction and advocacy, ensuring accessibility and fostering an inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering instructional services tailored to deaf and hard of hearing students across various age groups.
  • Managing a full-time caseload, developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Acting as a critical resource for staff, students, and families regarding deaf education strategies, technology, and accommodations.
  • Evaluating student progress, documenting outcomes, and adapting teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Supporting transition planning and offering consultative guidance within the educational team.

Desired qualifications:

  • Current IL Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) license.
  • Professional Educator License (PEL).
  • Proven experience working as an educator or specialist with deaf and hard of hearing students.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive, accessible, and supportive classroom culture.

Compensation for this position ranges from $26.50 to $48.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
