A school district in Edmond, OK is seeking a skilled Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist for a contract position. This role supports students with hearing impairments by providing specialized instruction and services tailored to their unique needs in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized educational plans for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and other specialists to support student learning
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional techniques accordingly
- Provide guidance and resources to families regarding hearing loss and communication strategies
- Assist in the use and maintenance of hearing assistive technology and related equipment
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to program development
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist or equivalent credential
