A specialized opportunity is available for a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist in an educational setting located in Dudley, MA. This contract position focuses on providing essential support and tailored services to students with hearing impairments, ensuring they receive an inclusive and effective learning experience.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Expertise in working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within a school environment
- Strong knowledge of communication strategies, assistive technologies, and educational accommodations for hearing-impaired learners
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators, parents, and support staff
- Familiarity with relevant state and federal regulations concerning special education services
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, families, and school teams
Location:
- Dudley, Massachusetts
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor the academic and social progress of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Implement individualized interventions and communication methods to support student learning and participation
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to adapt curriculum and classroom strategies
- Provide training and resources to staff and families to enhance understanding of hearing impairments
- Maintain detailed documentation and reports aligned with educational and legal requirements
