An opportunity is available for a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist to support educational programming in a school setting located in Butte, MT. This contract position involves working directly with students who are deaf or hard of hearing to enhance their learning experience and provide specialized instruction tailored to their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and support students with hearing impairments to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Deliver specialized instructional services in alignment with state standards.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to integrate accommodations and communication strategies.
- Utilize assistive technology and communication methods appropriate for deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to promote academic and social development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working in educational environments with deaf or hard of hearing students.
- Knowledge of assistive listening devices, sign language, and related communication methods.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and promote an inclusive learning environment.
