Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with hearing differences as a Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. As a valued educational professional, you will provide direct specialized instruction, develop IEPs, deliver progress updates, and collaborate closely with other educators and support staff.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (state-specific certification required)
  • Background in providing virtual instruction or strong willingness to adapt to online platforms
  • Experience serving early childhood through middle school-aged students
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IEP development and implementation
  • Proficiency in evidence-based instructional strategies for students who are deaf/hard of hearing
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a remote multidisciplinary team

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored, online instruction to students identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing from early childhood to 8th grade
  • Participate in IEP meetings; collaborate with families, staff, and external professionals to ensure student success
  • Maintain thorough and timely progress notes, documenting student achievements and areas for growth
  • Utilize appropriate assistive technology to promote access and engagement in a virtual learning environment
  • Provide resources and strategies to classroom teachers and support staff working with students on your caseload
