This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized virtual instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, serving early childhood through 8th grade. The role involves delivering direct educational services and collaborating closely with colleagues to support student success. This contract position requires a commitment of 35 hours per week and is based in Bolingbrook, IL, with all services provided virtually.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students from early childhood through 8th grade
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to develop and monitor student goals
- Maintain accurate and timely progress notes and documentation in compliance with educational standards
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure cohesive support for each student
- Utilize virtual teaching platforms to engage students effectively in a remote learning environment
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Experience working with students from early childhood to middle school
- Proven ability to conduct virtual instruction and manage remote classrooms
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining documentation and scheduling meetings
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
