Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) License
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students strongly preferred
- Ability to deliver individualized, student-centered instruction and collaborate with educational teams
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students unique needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure effective service delivery
- Utilize specialized instructional strategies and technology to promote accessibility and student engagement
- Track student progress and participate in relevant meetings and evaluations
