Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) License
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) required
  • Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students strongly preferred
  • Ability to deliver individualized, student-centered instruction and collaborate with educational teams
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students unique needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure effective service delivery
  • Utilize specialized instructional strategies and technology to promote accessibility and student engagement
