Job Description

Make a difference every day by providing valuable support and instruction to students in a virtual setting as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity offers an engaging experience, working 35 hours per week with early childhood through 8th-grade students. You'll play a vital part in fostering access, inclusion, and academic growth for learners with hearing differences.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher
  • Experience supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and progress documentation
  • Proficiency with virtual classroom platforms and technology
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with educational staff and families
  • Ability to provide age-appropriate instructional strategies from early childhood through middle school

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instructional services to students in early childhood through 8th grade in a virtual environment
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), participate in meetings, and track progress
  • Collaborate closely with general educators, support staff, and families to meet students unique needs
  • Maintain accurate records and provide clear, timely progress notes
  • Employ engaging teaching methods and tools tailored for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners
  • Adapt instruction based on ongoing assessment and student feedback
