A full-time teaching position is available for a specialist in Deaf and Hard of Hearing services within an elementary school setting near Aurora, IL. This role requires onsite presence and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with hearing impairments through specialized instruction tailored to their unique learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate services seamlessly into the school day.
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and resources to enhance students learning experiences.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional approaches as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and multidisciplinary teams to support student development.
Qualifications:
- Valid Teaching Certificate in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) in Illinois.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a Deaf/Hard of Hearing educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of auditory and visual learning techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and families.
