Job Description

A full-time teaching position is available for a specialist in Deaf and Hard of Hearing services within an elementary school setting near Aurora, IL. This role requires onsite presence and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with hearing impairments through specialized instruction tailored to their unique learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate services seamlessly into the school day.
  • Utilize specialized teaching strategies and resources to enhance students learning experiences.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional approaches as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Teaching Certificate in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) in Illinois.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in a Deaf/Hard of Hearing educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of auditory and visual learning techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and families.
