Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational environments
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and related compliance standards
- Proficiency with assistive hearing technology and accessible classroom strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instructional plans to support the unique needs of students with hearing impairments
- Participate as an active member of multidisciplinary IEP teams
- Provide direct and consultative services to students, teachers, and families
- Train and coach staff in accommodations, assistive devices, and educational modifications
- Monitor student progress and collaborate with school staff to ensure accessibility and success
- Advocate for student inclusion, access, and participation in school-wide activities
