Empower students to thrive by ensuring access to quality educational experiences as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, providing essential support within a collaborative school environment. Use your expertise to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), adapt curriculum, and foster effective communication among students, families, and staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist, or eligibility to obtain it
• Experience working with children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities
• Knowledge of current best practices in deaf education, including assistive technology and accommodations
• Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to create and maintain positive, supportive relationships with students and their families

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess student skills and needs; design and implement specialized instructional strategies
• Provide direct and consultative educational services to students with hearing impairments, both individually and in group settings
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and other professionals to facilitate student success
• Advocate for students needs and ensure access to appropriate resources and accommodations
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP development and reviews
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and progress reports
