Key Qualifications:
- Current certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist
- Experience working within a school setting strongly preferred
- Thorough knowledge of assistive listening devices, bilingual-bicultural/total communication methods, and IEP development
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt strategies to meet unique student needs and support individualized growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students needs related to hearing loss
- Develop and implement tailored education plans, accommodations, and modifications
- Provide direct instruction and support services to students with hearing impairments
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families for inclusive educational experiences
- Offer guidance and training on hearing loss issues and equipment to school personnel
- Advocate for accessible school environments and foster self-advocacy skills in students
- Maintain appropriate documentation and monitor student progress
