Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Experience working with students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a school or educational setting
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods used with the Deaf/Hard of Hearing population
• Knowledge of best practices in individualized instruction, technology, and accommodations
• Strong collaboration skills to work with general/special education staff, families, and related service providers

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, both individually and in small groups
• Assess student needs and assist in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Consult with classroom teachers and school teams to recommend strategies, supports, and classroom modifications
• Facilitate effective communication between students, peers, and school staff
• Advocate for student access to appropriate resources, technology, and materials
• Collaborate with families to ensure alignment of goals and supports between home and school settings
