Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) or similar applicable credential
- Proven experience working with school-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation for hearing-impaired students
- Familiarity with a range of communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL) and auditory/oral skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with special education teams, classroom teachers, families, and other stakeholders
- Excellent communication, organizational, and advocacy skills
What Youll Do:
- Provide both direct instruction and consultative services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Assist in the development, review, and execution of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Employ various communication methods tailored to students needs, fostering comprehension and inclusion
- Support classroom teachers in adapting materials and instructional strategies
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- Serve as a resource for staff and families, offering strategies for improved classroom access and student engagement
- Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to a positive, collaborative educational environment
