Qualifications and Background:

  • Certification as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist or related credential
  • Experience working with school-aged children with hearing impairments
  • Strong knowledge of assistive technology and communication modalities (ASL, cued speech, FM systems)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, parents, and students
  • Excellent organization, flexibility, and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction, intervention, and support to students with hearing loss
  • Conduct assessments and assist in developing IEPs tailored to each students needs
  • Offer consultation and training to classroom teachers and staff regarding accommodations and best practices
