Desired Qualifications:

• Valid certification or licensure for Deaf / Hard of Hearing education (as required by state regulations)
• Experience working with children or adolescents who are Deaf or hard of hearing
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and various communication modalities
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills
• Collaborative mindset, able to work alongside educators, families, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instructional and support services to students with hearing impairments
• Assess students needs and tailor strategies to promote engagement and learning
• Consult with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and support accessibility
• Facilitate communication between students, peers, and staff using ASL or other appropriate methods
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
• Serve as an advocate and resource for students and their families regarding hearing loss, technology, and access to services
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support
