Desired Skills & Experience:

• Hold appropriate state certification and/or licensure specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
• Experience working with children and adolescents with hearing loss in school environments.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities for students with hearing challenges.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, special education staff, and families.
• Strong advocacy, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Conduct assessments to determine students needs and recommend adaptive strategies or accommodations.
• Consult with classroom teachers to implement effective instructional techniques and ensure classroom accessibility.
• Facilitate and promote communication between students, school staff, and families.
• Monitor student progress, document services, and contribute to IEP meetings.
• Deliver training and resources to school teams on best practices for supporting students with hearing differences.
