Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist or equivalent.
- Experience working in school-based settings, preferably with students ranging from kindergarten to high school.
- Strong knowledge of current audiological devices, assistive technology, and adaptive communication strategies.
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Excellent collaboration skills with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) highly valued.
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing impairments, supporting their academic, social, and communication needs.
- Conduct assessments, interpret results, and make recommendations for classroom accommodations and modifications.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement effective strategies and foster inclusive classroom environments.
- Deliver training and resources to school personnel and families to ensure effective support for students.
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to compliance with special education laws and regulations.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
