Make a meaningful difference by supporting students as a Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist through a contract opportunity. This part-time, fully remote position focuses on delivering individualized services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, allowing you to leverage your expertise from the comfort of your home.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent state credential
- Previous experience providing services to K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Skilled in implementing IEPs and adapting instructional materials for accessibility
- Comfortable using virtual platforms for instruction and communication
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and educators
- Familiarity with 1:1 service delivery models
- Experience or willingness to work as a 1099 contractor
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, 1:1 support and instruction virtually to students, adapting lesson plans to meet their unique needs
- Collaborate with educational teams and families to develop and execute IEP goals
- Utilize technology and assistive devices to enhance the learning experience for deaf or hard of hearing students
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate milestones to stakeholders
- Offer expertise and consultative support to school staff, ensuring best practices in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education are followed
