Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Valid state credential as a School Counselor
  • Previous experience in K-12 school settings strongly preferred
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and sound judgment
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Familiarity with counseling best practices, interventions, and crisis response protocols

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students emotional, behavioral, and academic concerns
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement effective support plans
  • Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
  • Develop age-appropriate guidance curriculum and present workshops on topics such as bullying, mental health, and career readiness
  • Maintain detailed documentation and student records in compliance with district and state policies
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) when applicable
  • Offer guidance on academic planning, college/career exploration, and social skills development
