Qualifications:
- Current licensure or certification required for providing school counseling services
- Previous experience working as a counselor in schools strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and families
- Skills in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and individualized student planning
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical counseling practices
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and small group counseling to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs
- Support students in developing coping strategies, goal-setting, and problem-solving skills
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote a positive school climate
- Develop and implement proactive programs to address student wellbeing
- Respond to crisis situations and provide short-term interventions when necessary
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in meetings and contribute expertise to multidisciplinary teams
