Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Masters degree in School Counseling or closely related field required
- Valid state licensure or eligibility as a school counselor
- Previous counseling experience within a school or educational setting strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to confidentiality, sensitivity, and ethical practice when supporting students
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address students academic, emotional, and social development
- Collaborate with teachers, administration, and families to support student wellness and success
- Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution when needed
- Develop and implement prevention programs and activities focused on student well-being
- Maintain thorough and confidential records according to district and legal requirements
- Participate in IEP and 504 planning as appropriate, offering insights and recommendations for student support
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for students and staff regarding issues including bullying, academic challenges, and emotional regulation
