Job Description

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Masters degree in School Counseling or closely related field required
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility as a school counselor
  • Previous counseling experience within a school or educational setting strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to confidentiality, sensitivity, and ethical practice when supporting students

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address students academic, emotional, and social development
  • Collaborate with teachers, administration, and families to support student wellness and success
  • Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution when needed
  • Develop and implement prevention programs and activities focused on student well-being
  • Maintain thorough and confidential records according to district and legal requirements
  • Participate in IEP and 504 planning as appropriate, offering insights and recommendations for student support
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for students and staff regarding issues including bullying, academic challenges, and emotional regulation
