Key Qualifications:

• Valid counselor certification or license, as required by the state of California
• Previous experience working with students in a school setting (K-12 preferred)
• Strong understanding of counseling theories, crisis intervention, and student support strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and faculty
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust with students from diverse backgrounds
• Comfortable developing and implementing individualized student plans

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
• Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student progress
• Develop and deliver classroom guidance lessons tailored to student needs
• Assist with crisis intervention and referrals to outside resources when necessary
• Contribute to a positive school culture by advocating for student well-being and equity
• Maintain accurate and confidential counseling records in accordance with school policies
