Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid school counseling credential (California PPS or equivalent)
- Experience providing counseling services within an educational setting
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, educators, and families
- Familiarity with individual and group counseling techniques
- Understanding of social-emotional learning and developmental guidance practices
- Empathy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic, emotional, and social support to students through individual and group counseling
- Develop and implement intervention strategies to address attendance, behavioral, and academic challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to create a supportive learning environment
- Assist in designing and delivering classroom guidance lessons and school-wide programs
- Support crisis intervention and referrals to community resources as needed
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential student records in compliance with school policies
