Qualifications and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Counseling, School Counseling, or a closely related field required
  • Current and valid School Counselor certification issued by the appropriate state board
  • Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, teachers, and staff
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working with diverse student populations and managing sensitive situations with professionalism and care

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic, career, and social-emotional counseling services to students across all grade levels as assigned
  • Facilitate small group and individual counseling sessions, addressing topics such as conflict resolution, academic planning, and emotional well-being
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create actionable student support plans
  • Assist with identifying students needs through consultation, assessment, and observation
  • Participate in student intervention meetings and contribute to Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation in compliance with school and legal requirements
  • Deliver crisis intervention and support as needed in urgent situations
