Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as an onsite counselor in a supportive school environment located near Peotone, IL. This contract position allows you to utilize your guidance and counseling expertise in a setting where your skills truly matter. Youll engage with a manageable caseload, work closely with students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborate with dedicated staff to foster students' academic and personal development.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois State license in School Counseling (PEL required)
  • Experience working with IEP and 504 plans preferred
  • Proficiency using EasyIEP or similar IEP software
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Capacity to collaborate with educators, administrators, and families

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve a group of 21 IEP students and provide weekly support to an additional student with a 504 plan
  • Develop, update, and maintain student IEP documentation using EasyIEP
  • Deliver counseling services in accordance with IEP and 504 mandates
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
  • Promote social-emotional learning and equip students with strategies for success
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and progress notes
