Desired Qualifications/Experience:

  • Valid school counseling certification or license appropriate to the state
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop rapport with students, staff, and families
  • Skilled in individual and group counseling methods
  • Knowledge of academic planning and career exploration strategies
  • Cultural competency and commitment to inclusivity

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to support student wellness and development
  • Assist in crisis intervention and collaborate on student interventions with administrators and teachers
  • Facilitate communication between school staff, families, and outside agencies as needed
  • Develop and implement programs related to social-emotional learning, bullying prevention, and college/career readiness
  • Guide students through academic transitions, including scheduling and goal-setting
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality standards
