Job Description

Provide essential support as a full-time Elementary School Counselor in Appleton, WI, covering a 12-week leave from ASAP through the end of the school year. This contract position focuses on delivering comprehensive counseling services to elementary students, fostering their social, emotional, and academic development in a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions addressing students academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement intervention plans.
  • Assist students in coping with personal challenges, improving self-esteem, and enhancing problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of counseling activities and student progress.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to creating a positive school climate.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Wisconsin School Counselor License.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children in school counseling settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, families, and school personnel.
  • Ability to provide culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate counseling services.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of an educational team.

Assignment Details:

  • Full-time position, one elementary school assignment.
  • 12-week contract covering leave.
  • Supervision provided as needed by designated school personnel.
