Job Description

Bring your counseling expertise to a rewarding contract role supporting students in a vibrant school environment near Orland Park, IL. This flexible onsite position offers the opportunity to positively impact the academic and personal development of children while collaborating with a supportive educational team.

In this role, you will work 19.5 hours per week across Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, providing direct counseling support and case management to a diverse caseload consisting of 21 students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and one student with a 504 plan each week. Utilizing EasyIEP software, you'll ensure accurate documentation and compliance while fostering a safe and welcoming space for student growth.

Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois (IL) School Counselor license required
  • Familiarity with EasyIEP software preferred
  • Prior experience working with students under IEP and 504 plans is highly valued
  • Understanding of relevant district and state requirements (including PEL preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a focused caseload

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver counseling services aligned with students IEP and 504 goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
  • Maintain timely, thorough documentation and reporting using EasyIEP
  • Provide crisis intervention and serve as a resource for social-emotional learning
  • Support compliance with federal and state regulations regarding special education
