Key Qualifications:
- Current counseling certification or licensure appropriate for school settings
- Previous experience working as a school counselor (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and approachable demeanor
- Proficiency in crisis intervention and managing sensitive student issues with confidentiality and care
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families
- Skilled in providing both individual and group counseling sessions
- Adept at developing and implementing evidence-based support plans for students
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group counseling to address academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Conduct assessments and develop support strategies in partnership with teachers and staff
- Assist students with personal, educational, and career planning
- Respond promptly to crisis situations with thoughtful intervention techniques
- Facilitate open communication among students, parents, and educators
- Maintain accurate and confidential records while adhering to district policies and ethical guidelines
- Lead classroom presentations and workshops on topics such as conflict resolution or coping skills
