Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid school counseling certification, as required by state regulations
  • Master's degree in school counseling, guidance, or a related field
  • Previous experience working with K-12 students in a school counseling role is highly desirable
  • Strong communication, listening, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and compassion
  • Adept at developing and leading individual and group counseling sessions
  • Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies and resources

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group counseling to support students' academic and personal development
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify students' needs and create intervention plans
  • Assist students with goal-setting, decision-making, and social skills
  • Address and manage crisis situations promptly, offering guidance and resources as needed
  • Coordinate referrals to external mental health professionals or community agencies when necessary
  • Participate in the development and implementation of programs that foster a positive school climate
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling interactions
