Job Description

An exciting contract opportunity awaits an experienced Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor looking to make a meaningful impact in a school setting near Newport, NH. This position is ideal for those who are passionate about supporting student well-being and providing tailored mental health services.

In this role, you'll work directly with a small caseload of students, delivering specialized counseling and supporting each childs unique needs. The assignment spans the current through 2026-2027 school year, allowing for strong continuity of care. One full 8-hour day per week is projected, combining direct student work (approximately 6 hours) and additional time for documentation plus participation in meetings.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active New Hampshire Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) required
  • Background in school-based counseling preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise providing mental health counseling services to students with selective mutism
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate administrative records and participate in IEP meetings as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and, when appropriate, group counseling services to assigned students
  • Support students social, emotional, and mental health development
  • Collaborate with educational teams, families, and other providers to help develop and implement individualized plans
  • Complete timely documentation and required reports
  • Participate in team meetings and consultative discussions to ensure ongoing support for each student
