Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold a valid state certification as a School Counselor (or eligibility to obtain)
- Bachelors or Masters degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required
- Prior experience counseling K-12 students preferred
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a school environment
- Understanding of academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges facing students
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support student mental health and social development
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop effective support plans
- Address academic challenges, peer relationships, and personal concerns through direct intervention and programs
- Help implement and support behavioral interventions and conflict resolution strategies
- Monitor student progress and keep thorough documentation in accordance with school policies
- Deliver crisis response services as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all professional and ethical standards
