Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a school counselor (or ability to obtain)
- Prior experience as a guidance counselor or in a similar student support capacity
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of academic planning, college/career readiness, and student counseling
- Comfortable with developing and leading classroom guidance lessons and group counseling sessions
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise students on academic requirements, course selection, and post-secondary planning
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions addressing social, emotional, and academic concerns
- Create and implement comprehensive guidance programs tailored to high school students
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and families to identify and support students needing interventions
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and student plans in a confidential manner
- Assist with crisis intervention and provide referrals to community resources as needed
