A school-based counseling opportunity is available for a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Moncks Corner, SC area, with a contract position located near Mount Pleasant, SC. This role provides essential counseling services to support student well-being and academic success in a dynamic educational environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering individual and group counseling sessions to students to address academic, social, and emotional challenges.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop strategies that promote a positive school climate.
- Conducting assessments and developing intervention plans tailored to student needs.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and regulatory standards.
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student development and safety.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Masters degree in Counseling or Social Work.
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential preferred, issued through the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (LLR).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and school personnel.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Commitment to supporting a diverse student population with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
Schedule:
- Contract position with approximately 35 hours per week.
- Start date as soon as possible through May 29th, 2026.
