Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid school counseling certification or license (required)
- Previous experience as a school counselor strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to assess and respond to student concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Familiarity with best practices in student development, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution
- Skilled in developing and implementing individual and group counseling programs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address academic, emotional, and social needs
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement effective support plans
- Assist students in developing coping skills, problem-solving abilities, and academic strategies
- Help mediate conflicts and provide crisis intervention when needed
- Guide students through career planning and post-secondary options
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with school and legal guidelines
