Qualifications and Experience:

  • Masters degree in School Counseling, Counseling, or a related field required
  • Valid state school counseling certification or license
  • Previous experience as a school counselor, preferably in a K-12 environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build rapport with students, families, staff, and administrators
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional ethics
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing counseling plans based on student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, emotional, and social challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student progress and well-being
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Develop and implement programs that promote academic success and emotional wellness
  • Offer crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
  • Maintain detailed records of counseling sessions and student progress within compliance guidelines
  • Assist with referrals to external agencies and coordinate support services when necessary
