Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid counseling credential applicable to the state of Kansas
• Previous experience working in a K-12 educational setting preferred
• Strong understanding of student development, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention

• Adaptability and an empathetic approach to working with diverse student populations

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions addressing academic, personal, and social concerns
• Respond to immediate student needs, offering crisis intervention and follow-up support
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies for student success
• Develop and implement preventative programs focused on issues such as bullying, conflict resolution, and mental health
• Maintain timely, accurate records in accordance with school and legal requirements
• Advocate for students best interests, referring to outside resources when necessary
