Qualifications and Desired Experience
- Masters degree in Counseling, School Counseling, or a related field
- Current, valid state certification or licensure as a School Counselor
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and crisis intervention skills
- Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with developing and implementing individualized student support plans
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, behavioral, and social/emotional concerns
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student well-being and success
- Implement preventative programs and educational workshops to address bullying, mental health, and career readiness
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and document student progress
- Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution when needed
- Advocate for students needs and connect them with community resources
