Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in School Counseling or a closely related field
  • Valid state certification or licensure as a School Counselor
  • Previous experience providing counseling within a school environment preferred
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and administrators
  • Compassion, adaptability, and strong ethical standards

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services tailored to student needs
  • Develop and implement proactive programming to address common school issues such as peer relationships, conflict resolution, and stress management
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify students who may benefit from additional support
  • Coordinate referrals to outside agencies when necessary and serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
  • Uphold the confidentiality and trust afforded to the counselor role
