Job Description

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Masters degree in School Counseling or closely related field
  • Valid, appropriate state certification or licensure for counseling in schools
  • Previous experience in a school or youth-focused environment preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students academic achievement, emotional growth, and social development
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop effective support plans
  • Conduct crisis intervention and respond to urgent student needs as they arise
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of student interactions
  • Facilitate referrals to community resources and external mental health services when necessary
  • Assist with student transitions, including orientation and grade-level advancement
  • Lead classroom or school-wide presentations on topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and healthy coping strategies
