Key Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelors degree in Counseling, Education, Psychology, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Valid and current counselor certification or licensure
  • Previous counseling experience in a school setting
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build trust with students, parents, and staff
  • Skilled in crisis response and intervention strategies
  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group counseling sessions to address academic, emotional, and social needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student development and well-being
  • Develop and implement preventative programs and workshops on topics like bullying, mental health, and study skills
  • Assess students strengths and areas for growth, utilizing appropriate tools and observations
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling interventions
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to educational plans for students in need
  • Respond to crisis situations with professionalism and empathy
